On Aug. 17, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced updated disclosure requirements intended to reduce compliance burdens, align with certain changes in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and eliminate existing redundancies in the disclosure of information to investors.
